The Redmi Note 12 series is set to debut in China next month. Xiaomi has a global launch planned out as well, but new reports indicates that event is months away, and the devices to be launched will not be the same as the imminent Chinese models.
Xiaomi recently began its marketing campaign for the Redmi Note 12 series in China. The company is set to debut the mid-range phones next month in its home market, but fans of the series globally will have to wait a while longer—if a new leak is anything to go by.
According to word on the grapevine, while the Redmi Note 12 series will launch shortly in China, the phones will not debut on the global market until Q1 2023. That’s about expected these days—the Redmi Note 11 launched in China in October last year, with fans having to wait an extra three months for a global launch. The global Redmi Note 12 event will likely happen in January or February next year.
Like with the Redmi Note 11 series, too, the global Redmi Note 12 lineup looks set to play host to entirely different phones from the Chinese model. That likely means different choices of SoCs, some changes in design, and potentially different camera hardware. Lastly, while the Chinese Redmi Note 12 lineup will have at least one model with 210 W charging, that feature is said to be absent from the global models entirely.
