Xiaomi’s rumored next-gen Android flagship smartphones might indeed be closer than ever to their projected late-2022 launch, as one of them might have surfaced on the 3C website already. This "13 Pro" may thus have been revealed as having the same charging tech as its predecessor – however, that might still ensure it blasts past most of its potential competition in that regard.
Xiaomi is allegedly racing to sync the announcement of its latest premium Android smartphones to that of their alleged new processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Now, this rumor may have more weight than ever, as the 12 Pro’s successor may have led its series into 3C-approved status.
The Chinese regulator has reportedly given a Xiaomi device with a model number thought to belong to the "13 Pro" a pass in its testing. Should this be the case, the smartphone has a premium charging profile, even if it is no faster than that of its putative predecessor.
The new 3C database entry indicates that the Xiaomi 2210132C is compatible with the MDY-12-ED and MDY-14-ED: 2 power bricks with the same specs as the currently-available MDY-13 accessory. It is designed for smartphones such as the Xiaomi 11T Pro, POCO F4 GT and Redmi Note 11 Pro+ – not to mention the 12 Pro itself.
Therefore, it seems Xiaomi’s top-end MIUI 14 flagships might be 120W for another year. This lack of upgrade might come as a disappointment to some fans – however, as even the Samsung Galaxy S23 line is said to launch stagnating at ~25W, its 13-series rivals may have no bother racing right past them in this respect.
