The first hands-on image of the Xiaomi 13 Pro has surfaced online, months before the device’s arrival. Bearing a familiar design, the Xiaomi 13 Pro has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and 12 GB of RAM, among other features.
Xiaomiui claims to have unearthed a hands-on photo of the Xiaomi 13 Pro, months ahead of the device’s announcement. Typically, Xiaomi releases new flagships during the winter, but only in China. As the Xiaomi Mi 11 and Xiaomi 12 series demonstrated, global launches often take a few months to arrive. Based on earlier rumours, the Xiaomi 13 series could debut in November, a month ahead of the Xiaomi 12 series’ anniversary.
As the image embedded below demonstrates, the device shown is ‘nuwa’, a codename that emerged in June. At the time, Xiaomiui believed that ‘nuwa’ represented the Xiaomi 13, with ‘fuxi’ assigned as the Xiaomi 13 Pro’s codename. Seemingly without reason, the website has u-turned and now claims that ‘nuwa’ is the Xiaomi 13 Pro’s codename instead. Regardless, the image also contains the model number ‘2210132C’ that Xiaomiui noticed on an IMEI database in May. Subsequently, Xiaomi registered ‘2210132G’ with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), the global version of ‘2210132C’, which Xiaomi intends to only sell in China.
Additionally, the screenshot shows ‘nuwa’ as featuring 12 GB of RAM, an early MIUI 14 build and ‘kailua’, Qualcomm’s rumoured codename for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Incidentally, the screenshot suggests that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 runs at up to 3 GHz on its prime core, contrary to earlier leaks. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Xiaomi 13 Pro also resembles its predecessor, with a centred punch-hole and a subtly-curved display. While an image of the Xiaomi 13 Pro has not leaked yet, the device is anticipated to feature a 1-inch sensor as its primary camera, as is the Vivo X90 Pro Plus and the Oppo Find X6 Pro.
