Reportedly, Samsung has decided against releasing the Galaxy S21 FE with an Exynos 2100 in Europe. Instead, the Snapdragon 888 will take its place, but with Android 11 and One UI 3.1 rather than Android 12 and One UI 4.
Earlier this month, Roland Quandt and WinFuture revealed memory configurations and European pricing for the Galaxy S21 FE. Now, Quandt has published the device’s full specification sheet, which contains two oddities. He has also delivered more marketing renders, which we have embedded below.
As expected, the Galaxy S21 FE has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display running at 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. Samsung protects the 120 Hz panel with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and has included a punch hole for a 32 MP front-facing camera. According to Quandt, the front-facing camera has an f/2.2 aperture and a fixed focus.
Additionally, the Galaxy S21 FE has a 12 MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, OIS and dual PDAF. Samsung complements the primary camera with a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle that has a fixed focus and no OIS. By contrast, the device’s telephoto camera, an 8 MP sensor, supports OIS, along with 3x optical zoom and autofocus.
Moreover, Samsung has included a 4,500 mAh battery, wireless PowerShare support and a choice between 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. For reference, only the Galaxy S21 Ultra offers more than 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage in the Galaxy S21 series.
Bizarrely, Quandt claims that the Galaxy S21 FE will launch with Android 11 and One UI 3.1, not Android 12 and One UI 4. We would not rule out this being a mistake though, given that there is ample evidence to the contrary. Similarly, Quandt asserts that Samsung will sell the Galaxy S21 FE with the Snapdragon 888 in Europe, rather than the Exynos 2100. After months of delays, Samsung is tipped to release the Galaxy S21 FE in early January 2022.
